Mid election quietness

What a really quiet week in education, given an election and all that.
The biggest news seems to be that SATS are being cancelled and some consultancy outfit in education has decided that if every college was as efficient as the best 5%, they'd save £200m - WOW.
Perhaps the most important thing from Functional Skills point of view is that the School Report Card bill has died. What is interesting is that after all the panics of what it might include, there seems to be more panics about what might replace it!
Just goes to show that there was probably general acceptance of the SRC in the first place?
